can a mini usb cable have type B connectors at both ends?

mini usb connector
xamdawson asked:

I wanted to connect 2 phones together by via usb, so that I can exchange data on the 2 mass storage cards (on the go, without swapping cards and without the computer). But they both have only a mini usb type B connector.
I can’t find cables for the job!! So does that mean it can’t be done because there needs to be a type A connector???

  • because u cant do it directly :P try using Bluetooth…

  • The cable is not the issue. The problem is that a phone is a USB device, and if you connect two USB devices together, nothing will happen. Each device will simply wait for the master to configure it.

USB is not a symmetric bus. One end must be the master and the other end must be the device.
