Can I use my computer as a video display for rearview camera’s composite video?
I have a motorhome with a rearview camera that produces a Composite video signal to an LCD screen. My screen is broken. Is it possible to make my Windows XP computer function as an LCD monitor to view the signal from the camera?
Obviously, I’ll need a cable to convert the RCA composite video into some other kind of connector for the computer (USB, VGA port, firewire?), and some hardware and/or software?
I’d like to use the computer for its old purpose (GPS Display and Engine monitor), and add this new capability to see the rearview camera output. Is this a simple or difficult task? Any help appreciated….
VGA adapter has only one connector can I use generic USB for a second monitor?
I have an old PC desktop that has a single adapter vga adapter. I’d like to add a second monitor to this machine (vga). I have an open USB port and was wondering if a vga(male) to usb adapter would work or if I need a new vga card with multiple adapters. The other thing I was wondering is if off the mother board there is a 15pin male. Would that work if I gender changed the male vga that come on the new monitor’s cable?
As you can tell I only know enough to be dangerous.
Thank you for your help.
Can I connect my Notebook PC to a DVI-D to USB ?
I have an HP Pavillion DV6605us laptop. I have an external monitor VGA port. I would like to connect my 19 inch LCD monitor, with a DVI-D port to my laptop.
My laptop only has a VGA port to connect to but it does have open USB ports. Can I use a DVI connector to USB connector to get digital signal or would this product from eBay do the trick located below. I am not using multiple monitors just the external LCD. Will it give me digital signal?

Do I need a DVI connector to use my Digital Monitor?
I just bought a digital LCD monitor to replace my flat screen analog monitor, hoping it will get better picture quality. However, it comes with two connection cables. One is a VGA cable and the other is a DVI cable. I can only connect the VGA cable and USB cable to the back of my computer. There isn’t a DVI connector. I’m using a DELL Dimension E310. So am I screwed? Am I still getting Analog picture quality even though it’s a digital monitor?
