Do i need both the usb connector and the usb lan adapter?
usb connector
I bought the usb connector and it won’t work i have windows xp. So i think i need the usb lan adapter i already have a network cable. So do i have to have both and use that memory stick thing as a memory thing. Or can i sell the usb connector and buy the lan adapter and save the games i am going to download onto my wii. Please HELP i am stuck and have no idea.
There are three ways you can connect to WiFi:
LAN adaper
Nintendo USB Connector
Wireless router
I suggest the wireless router for it capability. I believe the LAN adapter requires a wired router though. I have the Nintendo USB connector and a router. I also have a Windows XP and it works fine.
Hope things work out.
I think you should just get a PSP and sell your computer.
You have Windows XP. The Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector is compatible with Windows XP and Windows Vista. The Wii has built-in Wi-Fi so it can connect to the USB connector wirelessly.
You need to make sure you have the Nintendo Wi-Fi Registration Tool installed on your computer. Go here to install the LATEST software.

After you plug in the USB connector to your computer and open the Registration tool, go to your Wii and click on Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector and press next when it says to go to your computer. Go to your computer and you should see your Wii there. Grant it permission to access and it should work. If you get an error code, you have to type it in here. Just saying that it won’t work doesn’t give us enough info to help you.

You only need the USB connector to connect wirelessly. You need nothing else. The Wii LAN Adapter is used for connecting wired.
