How to charge a Kodak EasyShare MD853 camera w/ usb?

I just got my camera today for Christmas. When i plug it into the USB cord its light shows green, then it flashes red and goes out. if i leave it plugged into the USB then it get really HOT. it starts to get so hot it hurts to hold it. I do not own a wall charger because i just got it but i think it should work w/o one. It won’t even turn on anymore. If you have any ideas please share!

The light stays on while it’s charging, and goes out when it’s full charged. The battery gets warm when plugged in, but shouldn’t get unbearably hot. It’s hard to describe the difference. I am not sure if there is anything wrong with your camera. Keep using it. If it works, I wouldn’t worry about it.
I’m having this same problem, I just got my camera today as well. Can somebody please give a good answer?!
