I’ve got the Nokia 7510 and I want to connect it to my computer. Do I need the mini or micro usb cable? How reliable is this sort of thing if I buy it off ebay?

looks like micro USB
I haven’t had any trouble with buying standard cables off ebay. If this was an older Nokia, with a custom connector, I would be much more worried. You still need the software to sync your phone to your PC, the cable alone isn’t enough.

The connector of my flash drive broke off and I have many important data I want to recover back. I looked at many sites but the data recovery price are over $ 100. I was told soldering can make it work. However, I have a black Sandisk cruzer 1gb micro flash drive and I can’t take out the white plastic part to solder the wires back together. Please help me. I would greatly appreciate it.

A friend has asked me to buy a data cable for her, but looking at photos of it on the web it appears to use the mini or micro USB connector .. is this true and would a standard cable work with the Katana?
I checked the port and it appears to correspond to the micro-B standard. My revised question is: would any cable that has standard USB/micro-B USB connectors work or could there be something specific that requires a particular manufacturer’s cable?

The tech specs for the Katana show that it has connectivity with a built-in micro-USB connector.

Should be nothing special. They specify that standard in the spec sheet, so that means that should conform to all of the micro USB specs.
Personally, I have had really good luck with a couple of those adapter kits that have a variety of ends to fit all.

I’m looking for a USB 2.0 cable that has a USB-A connector at one end and (somehow) USB-A, USB-B, USB mini and USB micro-B connectors at the other. I don’t plan on using them all at once, obviously, but I wonder if such a cable exists. I’ve look around the Internet and so far, no love.

They make cheap little adaptor kits, but I’ve never seen an all-in-one cable – but you could always make your own. USB is just 4 wires + grounded shielding.
