VGA adapter has only one connector can I use generic USB for a second monitor?
i001962 asked:
I have an old PC desktop that has a single adapter vga adapter. I’d like to add a second monitor to this machine (vga). I have an open USB port and was wondering if a vga(male) to usb adapter would work or if I need a new vga card with multiple adapters. The other thing I was wondering is if off the mother board there is a 15pin male. Would that work if I gender changed the male vga that come on the new monitor’s cable?
As you can tell I only know enough to be dangerous.
Thank you for your help.

You have many options. If your current video card is not built into your motherboard, you can remove it and replace with a 2-port one. If there one on the motherboard, you can always add a second video card to the computer as long as you have an available expansion slot. Or you could use a USB to VGA adapter like this one
