What can I do about a broken usb port on my laptop?

I have broken usb ports (emachine E520 acer). My question is can I use the vga port or the ethernet port to connect other devices like a mouse or camera that has usb? I saw some connectors that can be used in ethernet or the vga with one end of usb which I can again connect it with a female end of usb.

forget the bad usb and spend 10$ on this
that is if you have a pcmcia slot open.
I repair these issues but it requires me having the computer at my shop and desoldering and replacing the part that is bad (this is not a process for non-professionals)

You Can Take It Into The Computer Shop And Get It Checked Out - Then Go To A PC Shop - And Buy A New Port Then Take It Back To The Computer Shop And Get Them To Put It In
